Welcome To Kindergarten!

About the Teacher:

My father retired from the Navy, after being stationed in Key West, Florida and we settled here in Jacksonville, North Carolina. I’m still not sure how that decision was made, but here I am! I attended Jacksonville high school and then graduated from East Carolina in 2006. Go Pirates!! I taught in Greenville for 7 years before my husband’s job brought us back home to Jacksonville. We have a very sassy 3 year old and an adorable little boy. This is my 5th year at Stateside and my 12th year teaching kindergarten. I love seeing the amount of growth that happens at this age. I am blessed to be a part of the Stateside community and look forward to another rewarding year creating the sweetest little leaders on the block.

Room 218:

I run my classroom like a family runs their house. We use manners, share, encourage, hug, dry tears, apologize and love each other. I work hard to ensure that we are happy and learning every day. I have a passion for what I do and my main goal is to create confident, successful, happy boys and girls who love to learn and naturally lead others.

You may reach me by email, phone call or a note in your child’s folder. I will email weekly newsletters on Fridays. These will be a reflection on the week as well as highlight the upcoming week’s adventures in learning. If you are not a regular email checker, please let me know so that I can be sure to send a hard copy home with your child. I look forward to building a great relationship with you and your little one.

We have snack every day. Please send in a little something healthy for your child to have at the end of each day.

Please send in a change of clothes.

When you send in money please put it in an envelope stating what it is for with your child’s name.

We go to recess every day. Please be sure your child wears or bring appropriate shoes.

Thank you for already trusting me with your sweet one. I promise to love them as my own and find their strengths in everything they do.
